Depending on the severity of symptoms, it may be necessary to be seen right away.
During each examination, the Doctor will examine your pet “from nose to tail”, looking for anything out of the ordinary. We will develop a customized care plan that is tailored to your furry friend’s unique needs, lifestyle, and risk factors. This includes vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, weight management, and anything else that is relevant to your companion’s health.
A physical exam includes the Doctor looking at your pet’s eyes, ears, skin, abdomen, and skeletal system. A cardiovascular, neurological, and gastrointestinal assessment is also performed. Blood, urine, and/or fecal testing may be performed for diagnostic or medical maintenance purposes. This is also the ideal time to discuss any concerns or questions you have about your pet with the Doctor.
Additional diagnostic tests may be recommended based on the findings of the physical exam. These may include tonometry, radiology, ultrasonography. You can rest assured that our knowledgeable team can address and care for all your pet’s needs.
Finally, regular physical exams give Lawrence Veterinary Hospital the opportunity to get to know you and your pet. Developing a relationship with you and your furry companion is an integral part of the care we provide. This allows us to partner with you to manage your loved one’s health in an effective way, while also making the visits to the office a more positive experience for you and your pet. The more we understand your companion’s needs, the more effectively we can develop an appropriate health care plan.
We know you want your pet to enjoy many wonderful years by your side. At Lawrence Veterinary Hospital, we are here for you to help you achieve that goal. To get started, schedule an exam for your pet by:
