Our pet’s wellness program is designed to get your dog on the right path to a healthy and happy life. Dogs grow and age at a much faster pace than we do, so it is crucial to their health to receive regular wellness visits.
During your pet’s wellness visit, we will perform a physical assessment, checking your dog’s complete health from “nose to tail”. We will also discuss a personalized healthcare plan with you to make sure your pet receives appropriate vaccinations and preventives.
Because you spend the most time with your pet, you are your pet’s expert, as well as his or her greatest advocate. Please let us know if you’ve noticed any physical or behavioral changes in your pet, as well as any other concerns you might have.
The first few months of puppyhood are a critical period in your dog’s development. You will get the support and tools from us necessary to help him or her grow into a well-mannered, healthy dog, including information and advice on nutrition, training, behavior, and socialization.
Until your puppy has received a series of vaccines, he or she is susceptible to many serious but preventable diseases. Be sure to schedule your puppy’s first appointment promptly.
Our medical team will:
– take a complete history
– check vital signs
– perform a physical exam
– order any laboratory testing that is recommended
– vaccinate for appropriate disease complexes
– make sure your dog has appropriate preventives such as heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention
Your pet’s wellness visit is a perfect time to discuss other aspects of their total health such as nutrition, behavior counseling, and any other questions or concerns you may have. The Doctor will discuss oral health with you during these visits too.
Other ailments may occur throughout the year – life happens! Please call us with any concern, no matter how small, so that we may help your pet.
As dogs age, they need more attention and special care to keep them comfortable and healthy. Our senior wellness program can help your pet remain fit and healthy as he or she ages and help us catch any potential problems as early as possible. Regular wellness care can help your pet live a long, healthy, and happy life.
Diagnosing diseases and certain conditions early is important throughout a pet’s life, but it becomes even more critical when your dog reaches their senior years. The risks of arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hormone disorders, and kidney and liver problems all increase with age. Your pet may not show any signs of these serious diseases until they are quite advanced, which is why more frequent wellness visits are encouraged at this stage of life. One visit every 6 months is ideal.
We can treat many symptoms that are commonly attributed to age. We can also improve your pet’s quality of life in many ways: by identifying, preventing or reducing pain, recommending an appropriate nutrition and exercise plan, and suggesting environmental modifications to keep your pet comfortable. We are here for you and your dog – reach out to us so that we can help.
